Liverpool ‘Have Their Eye’ On 85M Rated South American Star As Reds Plan Squad Rebuild

Liverpool “have their eye” on signing Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo during the January transfer window, according to Sky Germany.

They claim that manager Jurgen Klopp has made recruiting a new midfielder in the New Year a top priority, with the Ecuadorian international one of two players being considered, along with RB Leipzig’s Konrad Laimer.

It is believed that the Reds did make enquiries about Caicedo back in August, but the player’s decision to change agents made any deal difficult to finalise during the summer.

However, a transfer is unlikely to be any more straightforward in January. Reports suggest that the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea are also keen on the player, while Brighton may hold out for as much as £85m.

The difficulties surrounding a move for Caicedo may suggest a reason why Laimer is being looked at as well. The Austrian’s contract expires in June and he could be available relatively cheaply.
