Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez leaped for joy and onto the Wembley pitch following the Reds’ 1-0 win over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.
The Uruguayan international was not able to make the matchday squad due to injury but he appeared to be fully mobile based on his celebrations following the final whistle.
Supporters on X are hoping that Nunez will be available to play Southampton in the FA Cup on Wednesday or, at least, be back in time for the Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest this weekend:

Nunez has been sidelined since being subbed against Brentford
The forward was taken off at half-time during the 4-1 win over Brentford 9 days ago but the Reds haven’t officially revealed the nature of his injury.
Manager Jurgen Klopp has stated that Nunez was substituted after he “felt” something, which indicates a muscular problem of some kind. Based on the video, though, he seems to be moving pretty freely now.
Liverpool’s injury problems are mounting up
Two more players went down with injuries in the Carabao Cup final. Ryan Gravenberch damaged ankle ligaments after a clumsy challenge from Moises Caicedo. Luckily, the Dutchman hasn’t broken anything but he was walking on crutches which suggests he won’t be back in action anytime soon.
Wataru Endo was also seen on crutches, but it has been claimed that the club’s medical staff are just being cautious with the Japanese international, who could barely walk due to fatigue after the match.
