Wataru Endo Makes Multiple Trophy Claim As Liverpool Prepare To Face Chelsea In Carabao Cup Final

Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo believes winning the Carabao Cup on Sunday could act as a springboard for the Reds to win other competitions this season.

The Merseysiders are competing on four different fronts and, speaking ahead of this weekend’s clash at Wembley, Endo said:

“If we could win this first one, I think it would have a really positive impact on the other competitions we’re competing in. Winning at Wembley would give us extra energy for the challenges ahead.”

As they say, “winning is a habit” so securing the first trophy of the season would certainly boost the squad’s confidence as they look to win the Premier League, Europa League and FA Cup as well.

Endo will play a key role for Liverpool over the next month

It has been confirmed that Curtis Jones won’t be available until after the next international break. With the likes of Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic also sidelined, manager Jurgen Klopp has limited options in the middle of the park.

He may need to rely on a small core of midfielders, which Endo will be one of. The Japanese international did get off to a slow start to his Anfield career following his arrival from Stuttgart in the summer but he has gradually adapted to the Premier League over the past few months, making the no.6 position his own.

The midfielder’s presence can unleash Mac Allister

As we saw with his two assists against Luton Town, Alexis Mac Allister is very capable of playing higher up the pitch as one of the No.8s.

Due to circumstances, the Argentinian international has had to play a lot deeper since his move from Brighton but, with Endo having returned from the Asian Cup, the 30-year-old can provide defensive cover so that Mac Allister can make more of an impact in the final third.
