Liverpool Join Four Team Transfer Battle For Portuguese Magician Who Scored From 46 Yards Against Arsenal

Liverpool are keeping tabs on Sporting Lisbon winger Pedro Goncalves, according to reports in the UK.

The Portuguese international has been in excellent form this season, scoring 18 goals in all competitions, including a lob from 46 yards out during a Europa League game against Arsenal last month.

Goncalves’s performances are not only attracting the attention of the Reds, though, with Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle having also watched the former Wolves player in recent months.

At 24 years of age, he would fit the profile of player that Jurgen Klopp’s side would be looking at and, as well as being prolific in front of goal, he is creative too, having contributed 14 assists this campaign.

However, Goncalves does favour playing off the left wing, which is not a position that Liverpool need to strengthen. He can play in more central areas too but there are question marks over whether he would be as effective playing in midfield as he would be further forward.
