Liverpool Lead The Race For £38m Rated Portuguese Teenage Sensation

Liverpool are looking to sign Benfica’s highly-rated young midfielder Rafael Brito, according to reports in the Portuguese media.

It is claimed the Reds were looking to sign the player last summer, only for the deal to fall through, but the Merseyside club retain an interest in the 18-year-old.

Liverpool youth team coach Vitor Matos is a big admirer of Brito’s talent and the Portuguese is said to be the driving force behind the Reds’ push to sign the holding midfielder.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are also keen on the teenager, but it is said that Jurgen Klopp‘s side do have the edge over their rivals.

Brito has not even played a senior game for Benfica yet, but when he does, it is believed it will trigger a £38m release clause. It is unlikely that Liverpool would have to pay that much to secure the player’s signature but he is in high demand, and they will have to work hard to snap him up.
