Liverpool icon Don Hutchison was full of praise for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo on his official Twitter page. He says that should the Reds complete a deal for the 21-year-old, it could be what they need to win the Premier League title once again.

Caicedo is a highly-coveted player at the moment. Moreover, Brighton are unwilling to let him leave the club without receiving an enormous transfer fee first – he could cost as much as £100 million for any of his potential suitors.

In Hutchison’s tweet, he wrote: “As it stands (without any signings) Man City are my obvious favourites to win the Prem, but I stand by if Liverpool sign Caicedo (on top of what they have already got) they could win it… He is that good!”

Who else, besides Liverpool, are interested in a move for Moises Caicedo?

Moises Caicedo is the subject of interest from a plethora of high-profile clubs presently. He looks set to leave the Falmer Stadium in the summer – it is just a case of who can match the Seagulls’ valuation of him.

Caicedo is currently being targeted by teams such as Chelsea, Manchester United and a host of teams in the Saudi Pro League. Arsenal had also been interested in the player previously, but they are unlikely to make a move following their £105 million capture of former West Ham United captain Declan Rice.

How would Caicedo improve the squad?

With the loss of Fabinho to Al-Ittihad earlier in the summer transfer window, Liverpool are in need of a defensive midfield. Right now, the only natural fit as a holding midfielder within the squad is 18-year-old Stefan Bajcetic.

While Bajectic is a fine player with a strong future in the game, he is not the most physical of players – in defensive midfield, he could be bullied by the league’s more bullish players in the middle of the park.

Caicedo, last season, was one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League. Hard-working, physically powerful and technically sound, there are few players better in his role at the moment – and he is only 21.
