Jude Bellingham Joins Chelsea Star In Praising Liverpool Player After Witnessing What He Did Against Leicester

Dominik Szoboszlai’s howitzer in Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Leicester City in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night has got the football world talking.

The Hungary captain took to Instagram to post an image of himself celebrating his goal, along with the caption “BANG!”:

In response, Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham commented “Szobooo”, Szoboszlai’s former RB Leipzig teammate, Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku, went with “boom” while his fellow Liverpool midfielder, Wataru Endo, simply said “what a goal”.

While many fans will be reluctant to say it, as it’s so early on in his Anfield career, the venom of the strike from Szoboszlai drew comparisons to Steven Gerrard. Whether the 22-year-old can emulate the Reds legend in every aspect of his game, though, we shall have to wait and see.

Liverpool come from behind again

With the score 1-1 at the time, the Reds needed Szoboszlai’s strike to help them secure their passage through to the round of 16 of the Carabao Cup.

Leicester had taken the lead very early in the first half, but Cody Gakpo equalised soon after the interval, with Szoboszlai’s goal and a neat backheel finish from Diogo Jota sealing the victory.

Szoboszlai has already been hailed as the signing of the season by pundits

The Hungarian international does seem to be getting better with every game, and the decision to pay his £60m release clause is looking more and more like the right choice with every passing week.

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson is under no illusions about Szoboszlai’s talent. Writing in his column for Sportskeeda earlier this month, the former Arsenal midfielder hailed him as the signing of the summer:

“Dominik Szoboszlai has been the pick of the bunch, for me. I hadn’t seen much of the lad while he was at RB Leipzig but I have to say I’ve been so impressed by him, he hasn’t had a bad game yet! He scored a worldie the other day and does a bit of everything, he’s going to be phenomenal for Liverpool in the coming years.”

That is some praise indeed and, hopefully, Szoboszlai can kick on from this very bright start to life at Anfield.
