‘Needs To Improve’ ‘Doesn’t Deserve The Disrespect He’s Getting’ Fans Discuss Liverpool Star’s Recent Form

The performances of Dominik Szoboszlai have been the source of much debate among Liverpool supporters in recent days.

Many were disappointed with his contributions during the 2-2 draw against Manchester United at the weekend and asked for their thoughts on the Hungarian international’s form, fans on X were split on whether it is a cause for concern:

Szoboszlai started the season so positively

Many questioned whether it was worth triggering the £60m release clause in the player’s contract at RB Leipzig. Even sporting director Jorg Schmatke admitted that he had his doubts about Szoboszlai’s value.

However, the 23-year-old began his Anfield career in impressive form, and he was even drawing comparisons to Steven Gerrard with his early performances.  Those comments were premature but many feel he does have the characteristics to be a top player for the Reds.

Injuries have taken their toll on the Liverpool midfielder

Hamstring problems have halted Szoboszlai’s progress in recent months, with the Hungarian having been sidelined for ten games between late January and late February.

Since his return to action at the start of March, though, the player hasn’t been able to hit his stride. He did look impressive in both legs of the Europa League round of 16 tie against Sparta Prague, getting 2 goals and 1 assist. However, he hasn’t found the net in any other competition since the 4-1 win over Chelsea at Anfield. If Liverpool are to win the title, they need Szoboszlai to get back to his best.
