“Not Right” – Souness Raises Concerns About One Liverpool Player As He Makes Title Prediction

Liverpool need to get their top forwards “firing on all cylinders” if they are to secure the Premier League title this season, according to talkSPORT pundit Graeme Souness.

The ex-Reds player and manager says he was worried to see that Mo Salah only started on the bench against Manchester City at the weekend and, while he still thinks his former club will finish top, he feels the Egyptian must be at his best for that to happen:

“I have said consistently that Liverpool will win it, and the reason why I said that is because they are a team without playing well because they are goalscorers.”

“Yesterday, when I looked at Salah coming on, Salah is not right. They have got to get these guys back to firing on all cylinders.”

Salah is nearing full fitness

While the 31-year-old’s absence from the starting lineup at Anfield on Sunday was a blow, he did make a decent impact after replacing Dominik Szoboszlai on the hour mark.

Salah’s superb through ball found its way to Luis Diaz, who should have done better with his finish when one-on-one with the keeper.

With an FA Cup quarter-final coming up against Manchester United, you would expect Salah to start at Old Trafford.

Liverpool have lost top spot

The 1-1 draw against City means that Jurgen Klopp’s side have dropped down to second in the table, with Arsenal now ahead on goal difference after their win over Brentford.

With the title race finely posed, with just a point separating three clubs, it does look like it will go down to the wire. The Reds don’t play in the league again until after the international break, with the Merseyside derby against Everton being postponed due to the FA Cup clash.

It will, therefore, provide a great opportunity for Liverpool to get some of their players back from injury before some key fixtures.
