Tottenham star Dejan Kulusevski has ranked Liverpool’s Mo Salah in 3rd place in his list of the best wingers in Premier League history.
Speaking about the Egyptian international, Kulusevski expressed admiration for his consistency at the very highest level:
“Every season he scores at least 20, 25 goals with 20 assists. He’s an unbelievable player and year after year you can see how hard he works. He’s a great player and one of the best in the history of the Premier League.”
As someone who plays in the exact same position as Salah, Kulusevski knows a thing or two about what is required to succeed as a winger in English football. He recognises a great player when he sees one.
Since arriving in England back in 2017, Salah has racked up an incredible 149 goals in 243 league appearances. The 31-year-old has also contributed 68 assists.
Salah’s future at Liverpool remains up in the air
The forward has continued his great form this season, having scored 12 goals in all competitions for the Reds already. However, there are doubts about his long-term future at Anfield.
Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad made a £100m+ proposal for Salah in September and, while the offer was turned down, Liverpool may not be able to resist such a bid next summer when the player will have just one year left on his contract. If he does leave after six years on Merseyside, he would be very difficult to replace.
Who else made it onto Kulusevski’s top 5?
The Swedish international rated former Chelsea star Eden Hazard as number one, as the Belgian international was the player he most admired when growing up.
Cristiano Ronaldo was second, with Kulusevski having also played alongside the former Manchester United player at Juventus
Fulham winger Willian and ex-Spurs star Gareth Bale make up the rest of his top five.
