Arsenal midfielder Jorginho says Mo Salah is among his top 5 players currently playing in the Premier League.
The Italian was asked whether Salah, Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland would make his list in a video on the JD Football YouTube channel, and Jorginho replied:
“These three for sure. It’s a tough one to [name five], yeah it’s tough, I’m struggling here!”
The 32-year-old then went on to pick his Arsenal teammate Bukayo Saka and Chelsea captain Reece James as his other two players.
Salah’s Premier League record stands up against the best
Since making the move to Anfield from Roma in 2017, the Egyptian international has scored 153 goals and contributed 72 assists in 251 league appearances. He averages a goal involvement every 1.12 matches.
Salah has been phenomenally consistent across his six and a half years with the Reds. This season, he remains the second top scorer behind Haaland, despite the fact that he hasn’t played since the 4-2 win over Newcastle United on New Year’s Day.
Liverpool could have the forward back available very soon
The 31-year-old picked up a hamstring injury playing for Egypt at the African Cup of Nations last month but, last week, manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed that the forward is closing in on a return to first-team action.
Salah has been pictured in training in recent days and there is now optimism that he will be in the matchday squad for the trip to Brentford on Saturday afternoon.
Liverpool need another victory to stay top of the table. Jorginho’s Arsenal and Manchester City are breathing down their necks and they can’t afford to drop points in the title race.
If they can’t secure a win against Brentford, the Gunners could replace them as league leaders if they go to Burnley and get a victory at Turf Moor later on in the day.
