Liverpool “no longer the same” after Coutinho sale says Roberto Firmino

Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino says the club is “no longer the same” after the sale of Philippe Coutinho.

The Brazilian star and international team-mate of Firmino was sold to Barcelona earlier this week in a club record £142 million deal – making him the third most expensive player in history behind Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, the latter of whom’s transfer to PSG is expected to go through permanently in the summer.

After the departure of his former team-mate, Firmino took to Facebook to share his thoughts.

“Liverpool is no longer the same without you my magical brother,” he said.

“I wish you infinite success, that you enjoy life and realise all your dreams brother. “God is always protecting you and your whole family. It was an honour to play with a magician like you.”

The pair were close friends during their time together at Anfield. outinho was the best man when Firmino married his long-term girlfriend Larissa Peereira in Maceio in Brazil last summer, and the duo were often seen socialising in Liverpool together.

Coutinho is expected to make his Barcelona debut at the end of the month.
