Liverpool are interested in signing Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie on loan, according to reports in the English media.
The Reds have already recruited one player from Juve, Arthur Melo, in a similar deal during the summer transfer window, but it appears that the Merseysiders are seriously considering going after McKennie as well.
Jurgen Klopp’s side may be trying to save up their money for a double swoop for Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham and Enzo Fernandez by securing a midfielder on the cheap in January.
McKennie would certainly add the energy and dynamism that has been sorely lacking in Liverpool’s midfield this season. He was particularly impressive playing for the USA against England in the World Cup, prompting Reds legend Jamie Carragher to praise him after the match:
A draw was a fair result, the energy of Adams & Mckennie was excellent & Pulisic showed his class at times. Harry Maguire was superb for England. No Foden 🤷♂️ #WorldCup2022

The 24-year-old has been on the radar of plenty of Premier League teams, having been linked with Tottenham, West Ham, Arsenal, Aston Villa and Everton, so we shall see if Klopp’s team end up being the frontrunners for his signature.
