Liverpool Star Turns On The Style By Scoring Twice In African Cup Of Nations Win

Liverpool forward Sadio Mane helped Senegal through to the knockout stages of the African Cup of Nations after scoring twice in the 3-0 win over Kenya yesterday.

The 27-year-old did, though, miss a penalty in the first half but he made amends with two goals in the second period.

Mane’s Senegal will now face Uganda in the last 16, with their next opponents having surprisingly qualified from their group after beating the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Reds fans will be concerned that Mane may return from the tournament feeling jaded. The final is set to be held on July 19th and if Senegal do go all the way, it will only be 16 days before the Community Shield match against Manchester City.

Usually, Liverpool allow their players at least three weeks break during the summer so the likelihood is the likes of Mane and Salah could miss the start of next season if their teams go deep into the African Cup of Nations.
