Liverpool Star’s Wife Speaks Out On Claims That Her Husband Will Leave The Club

Anfield Stadium

Liverpool midfielder Fabinho’s wife Rebeca Tavares has responded to reports that her husband could be leaving the club in the January transfer window.

Reports in France suggested that the Reds could sell the Brazilian international to Paris Saint-Germain for €50m, just six months after signing him from Monaco in the summer.

Tavares took to Twitter to state that the rumours were “fake news”:

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp had already dismissed the speculation last week when asked about Fabinho’s future:

“Of course he will not leave. That would be completely crazy. It’s the world we are in where people don’t play for a few games and they are open for a transfer.”

The 25-year-old did not make his Premier League debut until October but he has started three of the Reds’ last four league games.

Although there is no guarantee he will start against PSG tonight, there is every chance that he’ll be picked in the Merseyside derby against Everton on Sunday.

Captain Jordan Henderson will be suspended for the match after picking up two yellow cards against Watford last weekend, and the midfielder is likely to be picked instead as the holding midfielder for tonight’s game at the Parc des Princes.
