Liverpool would be interested in signing Manchester City fullback Kyle Walker, according to reports in the English media.
The England international has a year left on his contract and there have been rumours that he could leave the Etihad this summer, with Bayern Munich also said to be keen on securing his services.
There was a mixed reaction to the reports linking Walker with a move to Anfield on Twitter, with some supporters open to the defender making the switch, while others were very much against it:
i’d 100% take him

Not gonna happen but Walker right back and Trent in midfield, I’m here for it.

A cheap solution so Trent can play in midfield?
After witnessing Trent Alexander-Arnold play in midfield for England during the international break, there have some suggestions that another right-back could be brought in so the 24-year-old could play full-time in that position at club level as well.
Bayern Munich’s Benjamin Pavard has also been linked, adding weight to the speculation that Trent could become a midfielder for the Reds, rather than just an inverted fullback.
Walker does have the experience and quality
The former Tottenham player has 75 caps for England, as well as having won 14 major trophies during his six seasons with Manchester City. For that reason, it would not be a surprise if Walker was being considered.
However, there are a couple of huge caveats. The right-back is now 33 and the Reds rarely sign players in their late 20s, let alone thirties. It is also hard to imagine City selling him to a major rival.
