‘Can’t Let Arsenal Have Him, Too Much Talent’ ‘Not What We Need’ Liverpool Fans React To Latest Transfer Claim

Liverpool and Arsenal are reportedly among the clubs plotting a move for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Jesper Lindstrom.

Spurs, Newcastle, Napoli, Inter Milan, Juventus and RB Leipzig are also said to be interested in the Danish international but the Reds and the Gunners are the two teams that have made formal enquiries about the 23-year-old.

Although some fans on Twitter believe Lindstrom  is a talented player, most feel that the Merseysiders shouldn’t be targeting another attacking midfielder:

A possible Henderson replacement?

Liverpool’s priority is to find a number 6 in order to fill the void left by Fabinho, who has now officially moved to Al-Ittihad for £40m. That is why the Reds have been pursuing Southampton’s Romeo Lavia.

However, more than one midfielder will need to be signed, with captain Jordan Henderson having been sold as well. Jurgen Klopp is deploying what has been termed a “box midfield”, and it requires more attack-minded players in the number 8 positions.  The arrivals of Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister mean Liverpool have some more options for those roles, but Lindstrom could add even more more depth.

Liverpool could have to pay a sizeable fee for Lindstrom

One of the big concerns about pursuing the Dane, though, is his asking price. His initial valuation of €30m (£26m) to €35m (£30m) seems pretty reasonable.

However, it is believed that, if there is competition for Lindstrom’s signature, Frankfurt may increase their demands to €55m (£47m). That may price the midfielder out of a move to Anfield.
