Liverpool head into Sunday’s clash against Manchester United on the back foot. Recent performances against West Brom, Newcastle and Southampton have been very concerning, and they will be facing a rejuvenated opponent this weekend, who are currently three points above them in the table.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have won their last four league games and they will be desperate to break the Reds’ long-standing unbeaten home league record. It will be up to manager Jurgen Klopp to ensure that doesn’t happen.

There is some good news, in terms of injuries, heading into the match. Joel Matip still has a chance of making the game after missing the last three matches with an adductor injury. Klopp says they are hopeful that he’ll return to training ahead of the match at Anfield.

However, Naby Keita remains unavailable, while the likes of Diogo Jota, Kostas Tsimikas, Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk (all knee) are still out of contention.

For United, Solskjaer has fitness doubts over Anthony Martial (hamstring), Nemanja Matic (groin) and Victor Lindelof (back), while Marcos Rojo (calf), Facundo Pellistri (virus) and Phil Jones (knee) have been ruled out.
