Newcastle Reportedly Enquire About Availability Of Two Liverpool Strikers

Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez has enquired about the availability of both Divock Origi and Dominic Solanke, according to reports.

The Liverpool strikers have barely featured under Jurgen Klopp this season, and the Magpies boss is keen to bolster his attacking options in the January transfer window.

A move for Solanke is not likely as the Reds would likely only consider the player leaving on loan. Newcastle have already loaned two players (Salomon Rondon and Kenedy) and cannot bring a third player in on a temporary basis.

An offer for Origi would be more realistic but even then Liverpool’s asking price for the Belgian international is well above what Benitez and the Magpies could afford.

The Reds set a £27m price tag for the 23-year-old in the summer, and while they may consider reducing this when the transfer window reopens, it’s unlikely that Newcastle could afford him because of their very limited transfer budget.
