Liverpool have been in contact with the agent of Barcelona midfielder Pedri, according to reports in the UK.
The 18-year-old has been in excellent form this season and the Spanish international currently has a release clause worth just £70m, which has caught the Reds’ attention.
Pedri is expected to be handed a new four-year contract soon, with the buyout fee expected to increase to £350m, so supporters on Twitter are not holding out any hope that he would be interested in moving to Anfield:

This is way to risky 70million on a 18yr old yes he has bags of talent but he still needs to grow in this Barca team

There is no realistic chance that the Spaniard would be interested in a switch to Liverpool at the moment. He has made 44 appearances in all competitions this season, despite his young age, and he is a key player for manager Ronald Koeman.
The Reds will be seeking to strengthen their midfield options this summer, with Georginio Wijnaldum expected to depart on a free transfer, but they are thought to be looking at other players.
