REPORT: Liverpool And Arsenal ‘The Most Interested’ As PL Clubs Vie To Sign 44M Rated Spanish Speedster

Liverpool and Arsenal are the two teams that are “the most interested” in snapping up Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams this summer, according to Calciomercato.com.

The Spanish international has been linked with the Reds before and the Italian website claims that the player’s “excellent season” for Bilbao has not gone unnoticed by the Merseyside club.

Williams reportedly has a €50m (£44m) release clause in his contract but he hasn’t put pen to paper on an extension, despite his current deal expiring at the end of next season.

It means the 20-year-old is likely to be available for a pretty low price when the transfer window reopens, and he will be an attractive option for many teams.

Whether Liverpool really need a player like Williams, though, it is up for debate. Manager Jurgen Klopp currently has six forwards at his disposal, including Mo Salah, Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino and Cody Gakpo.
