REPORT: 35M Rated Liverpool Target Has ‘Made The Decision To Leave’

Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul has “made the decision to leave” the Italian club this summer, according to TNT Sports.

The Argentinian sports channel claims that Liverpool, Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid are the frontrunners for the 27-year-old, although there are other clubs believed to be in the frame for the player.

After Udinese’s last game of the season at the weekend, De Paul said to reporters in Italy that he had already communicated to his agent and his club what he wants to do, although he stopped short of saying that he has asked to leave:

“What I had to say I told the club and my agent … I won’t say more. By now I’m used to people talking about me. People love me here and I’m the team captain … I know that there are interested teams but I don’t look at where they are from.”

It is thought that Udinese may ask for a fee in the region of €40m (£35m) for the Argentinian international, and it remains to be seen whether Liverpool would be put off by such a price tag.

De Paul would not be a direct replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum, and manager Jurgen Klopp will have to decide whether he can mould the midfielder into the type of player he needs.
