Report Reveals That ‘Discussions Are Already Underway’ As Liverpool And 3 Other Teams Try To Seal £35M Transfer

Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Bayern Munich are in talks about signing Celta Vigo attacking midfielder Gabri Veiga, according to AS.

The Madrid-based publication claims that “discussions are already underway”, with the four clubs having a head start on the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Celta president Carlos Mourino has stated that the La Liga club will only sell Veiga if a team matches his €40m (£35m) release clause.

AS say that this means any negotiations will be held with the player and his representative Pini Zahavi, rather than Celta themselves, as there is nothing to discuss when it comes to the transfer fee.

Real have also talked with Zahavi, while Barca have close connections with the super-agent, having worked with him to sign Robert Lewandowski.

However, it appears Liverpool, and the other three clubs mentioned, do have an advantage, although it remains to be seen which will end up being Veiga’s favoured destination.
