Romano Claims Liverpool Are The “Most Dangerous” Threat As Serie A Giants Try To Keep Hold Of 44M Midfielder

Liverpool are the team who are making the most effort to sign AC Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Writing for SOS Fanta, the journalist claimed that the Reds are the “most dangerous” threat to Milan’s chances of keeping the Algerian international.

Bennacer has just eighteen months remaining on his contract at the San Siro, and the Rossoneri are believed to have tabled an offer to extend his current deal at a meeting with his agent Enzo Raiola this week.

The player and his representative are now expected to discuss the proposal before giving an answer on whether to accept it or not.

Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal have all been credited with an interest in Bennacer, who is believed to have a €50m (£44m) release clause. If the player doesn’t sign an extension, though, it’s likely that Milan will have to sell the 25-year-old for below that amount, especially if he does reach the final year of his contract.
