Romano Reveals Liverpool Will Hold Talks With £70M Rated South American Star’s Agents In The “Next Two Or Three Weeks”

Liverpool will hold fresh talks with the representatives of Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister in the “next two or three weeks”, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

While Chelsea’s Mason Mount remains the Reds’ number one target, Romano says Mac Allister is another player that Jurgen Klopp’s side would like to sign this summer:

“Among the priorities for Liverpool remains Mason Mount, he is a player since February in their list and Alexis Mac Allister is another one they appreciate and they will have contacts with the camp of Mac Allister very soon, it could be in the next two or three weeks.”

Mac Allister’s father has spoken out in recent weeks to claim that his son is likely to be on the move at the end of the season, so Brighton are not expected to block a sale.

The 24-year-old is believed to be valued at around £70m by the Seagulls, but there is expected to be fierce competition from Manchester United for the Argentinian international’s signature, so we shall see how talks with his agent progress.

Whether Mac Allister is worth the amount being reported, it is up for debate, but it seems clear that Liverpool are prepared to make a concerted effort to sign him.
