Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho has teased a potential move to Liverpool by responding to Trent Alexander-Arnold in an Instagram Live Q&A.
When asked whether he would like to see his England international teammate join him at Anfield, Alexander-Arnold was enthusiastic in his response:
“If he came to us, he’d make our team better. So, I’d be more than happy for him to come because I played with him at England and he’s a special, special, special, special talent.”
Sancho then proceeded to use four ‘eye’ emojis to signal that Alexander-Arnold’s comments had been noted.
Whether that actually gives any indication as to where the 20-year-old will be playing his football next season, it seems unlikely.
Sancho is reportedly being pursued by Manchester United and Chelsea but his €100m (£88m) asking price is probably outside Liverpool’s price range.
Although the Borussia Dortmund star is certainly a top player, the Reds would have to break their transfer record to fill a position that doesn’t really need filling.
Sancho generally plays from the right-hand side, and manager Jurgen Klopp already has Mo Salah and Xherdan Shaqiri for the role.
