Liverpool could be Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland’s next club, according to Red Bull Salzburg’s sporting director Christoph Freund.
The Norwegian international was sold to Dortmund by Freund just under a year ago and when asked by Germany legend Lothar Matthaus about where he could go after leaving the Bundesliga, Freund replied he could “land” at Anfield.
Haaland has a €75m (£67.6m) release clause which comes into effect at the end of the 2021/22 season and needless to say fans on Twitter would love to see the 20-year-old move to Merseyside:

With the likes of Roberto Firmino, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane all close to turning 30, a refresh of the front three will be needed at some point and Haaland would undoubtedly be the perfect candidate. Since moving to Dortmund last January, the Norwegian has scored 24 goals in 27 appearances.
Liverpool will certainly face fierce competition for the forward’s signature, though, with Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City all having been linked with the player in recent months.
