Shearer Highlights Liverpool Star’s “Outrageous” Skill As He Names His PL Team Of The Week

Premier League legend Alan Shearer has praised Liverpool forward Mo Salah after the Egyptian scored his 150th goal for the Reds against Norwich City at the weekend.

The 29-year-old was in top form and Shearer was particularly impressed by his excellent technical ability as his team got their ninth home win of the season:

“That’s 150 goals and counting for Liverpool. His skill and control was outrageous at times.”

Salah looked like a man on a mission on Saturday. He had Canaries left-back Brandon Williams on toast throughout the game, and he took his goal expertly, controlling the pass from Alisson before rounding Norwich keeper Angus Gunn and slotting the ball cooly into the open goal.

As well as recognising Salah’s performance, Shearer also highlighted a number of other players in his official Premier League Team of the Week. He named Wolves’ Jose Sa in goal, with a backline of Southampton’s Tino Livramento, Spurs’s Eric Dier, Burnley’s Nathan Collins and Newcastle’s Matt Targett.

In midfield, he went for Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe and the Magpies’ Joe Willock, while up front he named Tottenham’s Harry Kane, Burnley’s Wout Weghorst and Watford’s Emmanuel Dennis alongside Salah.
