Sky Pundit Claims “Outstanding” World Cup Winner “Could Be In The Premier League Soon” Amid Reports Of Liverpool Bid

Sky Sports pundit Clinton Morrison says he wouldn’t be surprised if Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandez makes a move to the Premier League “soon”.

Unsubstantiated reports in recent days have suggested that Liverpool have tabled a €97m (£85m) bid for the World Cup winner and Morrison thinks the Argentinian international would thrive in England:

“I like Fernandez, what a player. He could be in the Premier League soon. A holding midfielder at such a young age and a young player of the tournament. Outstanding.”

There have been conflicting reports from Portugal regarding Liverpool’s attempts to sign Fernandez. Some have claimed that Benfica have rejected a €100m (£88m) offer, although the name of the club that made the proposal has not been revealed.

Other sources suggest that the Reds have an agreement with the player himself, but haven’t moved ahead with a formal bid yet. All we can say for certain is that Jurgen Klopp’s side are interested in the 21-year-old.

Rival Premier League clubs, including Chelsea and Manchester United, have also been mentioned as potential suitors for Fernandez, while the likes of Real Madrid may yet enter the battle for the midfielder’s signature as well.
