Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp opted against signing Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus for just £21m this summer, according to reports in England.
The German international was a player that was scouted by the Reds, with Manchester City also thought to be interested in the 24-year-old, but it seems Klopp decided that he didn’t need another midfield option.
Considering the price being quoted for Neuhaus, supporters on Twitter think the club could live to regret the decision:
This will haunt us.

It had been consistently reported that the midfielder had a €40m (£34m) release clause so where this £21m figure has come from is anyone’s guess.
There were some rumours that Gladbach needed to sell players but, even so, it is hard to believe that the Bundesliga club would have sold a promising young talent like Neuhaus for so little. Fans would probably be wise to take this report with a large pinch of salt
