Three Players Liverpool Could Sign To Help Their Midfield In Summer Transfer Window

Gravenberch

It’s no secret – there is something of a midfield crisis this season at Liverpool. With players such as Georginio Wijnaldum having left the club, they are crying out for a world-class box-to-box player.

While they have tried to sort out the issue from within, by playing youngsters such as Stefan Bajcetic and moving Trent Alexander-Arnold into the middle of the park, they will still need to purchase a central midfielder in the summer.

As such, we’ve put together a brief list of three midfielders who Liverpool could potentially snap up in the summer to help plug the gaps in their squad.

We’ll be looking at players from teams such as Sheffield United and Chelsea – who would you like Jurgen Klopp’s Reds to bring in?

Conor Gallagher

Conor Gallagher is likely the safest option that the Reds could pursue. In 2021/22, he had a great season on loan at Crystal Palace – this season, however, he has been less impressive.

It isn’t necessarily his fault, though. Chelsea have become a complete basket case of a club – even world-renowned stars like Raheem Sterling and Joao Felix have failed to impress.

As such, this could be a move that would make sense for all parties involved. Chelsea need to offload players to balance their books – and he fits the bill for what Liverpool are looking for.

Sander Berge

Towering midfielder Sander Berge has played an indispensable role in Sheffield United’s promotion campaign this season. Could he translate his excellent form into Jurgen Klopp’s style of play?

Not only doesn Berge possess an indomitable workrate, he also has a range of passing to back it up – in many ways, he resembles a superior version of former Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini.

Being one of the Blades’ key players, they are likely unwilling to part ways with him – Liverpool will need to flex their financial muscles to bring him to Merseyside.

Ryan Gravenberch

We believe this would be Liverpool’s best option – if they can afford him. Ryan Gravenberch is a limitlessly talented young midfielder, with excellent passing and an indefatigable workrate.

He is believed to be on Liverpool’s radar, but they aren’t the only ones – he has also been linked with a move to Manchester United in recent times.

Currently at Bayern Munich, the 21-year-old reportedly wants a move away to secure first-team football. While he would certainly get that at Anfield, would the Reds be willing to take a gamble on him?
