Turkish Starlet Responds To Claims That He Is A £27m Target For Liverpool

Trabzonspor midfielder Abdulkadir Omur has said his future is very much in the hands of his club after reports emerged that Liverpool and Manchester City are chasing the 19-year-old.

There were claims in the English media at the weekend that the Reds would be prepared to pay £27m for the teenager.

In response, Omur has said he knows the Premier League side are a big club but he will only leave if Trabzonspor accept an offer for him:

“Liverpool is a very important club, but the most important thing is Trabzonspor’s interests. If my club tell me that I can go, I’ll go and if they tell me to stay, I’ll stay. We will see.

“My priority is Trabzonspor but I have a dream of playing in Europe. I hope I play there one day. My dream is to succeed here and then go to Europe.”

The Turkish Under 21 international has been in good form in the Turkish Super Lig club this campaign, having scored two goals and provided four assists in 16 games.

It is believed that Omur is being eyed as a replacement for Adam Lallana. The 30-year-old has been linked with a loan move to Fenerbahce this month, although it is believed that Liverpool won’t allow any more players to leave in January following the departures of Nathaniel Clyne and Dominic Solanke to Bournemouth.
