Barcelona forward Luis Suarez could have the final year of his contract terminated by the Catalan club as he doesn’t feature in new manager Ronald Koeman‘s first-team plans, according to reports in Spain.
The former Liverpool striker is the third-highest goalscorer in Barca’s history but with the player now 33 years of age, it has been decided that the Uruguayan does not have a future at the Camp Nou.
A return to Ajax has been suggested but Reds fans on Twitter have started discussing whether manager Jurgen Klopp should consider bringing Suarez back to Anfield:
Twice the player origi is still now. So as an option y not, free transfer aswell, plenty off goals left in him

Great deal if he takes a pay cut

Yes and no. Really depends on him. If he would be ok with being mainly a backup player, and lower his wage demands he would be perfect. We would get one of the world best attackers who still has a couple of seasons left. Fantastic player, loves the club and we love him. Why not?

YES if hes free it’s a no brainer, yes hes in decline but he would good competition for the squad. He can still score 20+ goals a season too.

Although he would be a brilliant asset to have, coming on as a substitute, it is difficult to see the Uruguayan international being satisfied with a place on the bench, despite his advancing years.
Suarez has talked about returning to Ajax previously so the Dutch club would be the favourites to sign him. MLS, China or the Middle East would also be potential options for the striker.
Of course Arsene Wenger famously made a £40,000,001 bid to bring Suarez from Liverpool to Arsenal. Back in 2013 Wenger thought he would trigger the player’s £40M release clause by bidding £1 over the threshold but as we know the attempt to land the forward ultimately failed.
