‘Waste Of Money’ ‘Don’t Want Him Tbh’ Fans Respond As Romano Reveals Liverpool And Chelsea Are Tracking 109M Rated Winger

Liverpool and Chelsea are keeping tabs on Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho’s situation ahead of a possible transfer at the end of the season, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The reliable Italian journalist believes Manchester United’s failure to sign the England international back in October means the door could open for other teams to get involved if Sancho looks to make the move back to England next summer:

“He was really one step away from leaving Borussia Dortmund this summer.  Manchester United were really close to signing him for €100m, but then Borussia Dortmund changed their plans, but Manchester United had the agreement with the player and his agents, so everything was ready, and then the deal collapsed at the last stages. That’s why I say next summer, I expect Jadon Sancho to leave the club and be back in the Premier League.”

“We have to understand if Manchester United will arrive with €120m (£109m), if they will be ready this time to sign the player or if they’ll take the risk of other clubs joining the race. I will say like Liverpool, Chelsea, and a lot of clubs are scouting the situation of Jadon Sancho, so at this point the race is open.”

Sancho’s €120m (£109m) price tag would remain the biggest stumbling block to Liverpool getting involved in the race for the 20-year-old, and fans on Twitter are not certain that the player would be a worthwhile purchase:

It is true that Sancho‘s levels have dropped off somewhat this campaign, having scored just four goals in 18 games for Dortmund, but he is still a very creative player, having laid on nine assists in all competitions.

United are certainly still the favourites, considering their financial power, but Romano’s comments suggest that it isn’t inevitable that the player will move to Old Trafford.
