Wataru Endo To Start; Ryan Gravenberch And Andy Robertson On The Bench: Liverpool’s Predicted XI To Play United

Liverpool survived a scare against Sheffield United midweek, with the brilliance of Alexis Mac Allister getting them out of trouble.

However, they will need a much better performance if they are to secure the three points versus Manchester United on Sunday.

The Red Devils are reeling from a last-gasp defeat to Chelsea so expect them to be right up for this game. It is likely to prove just as difficult as the FA Cup quarter-final just a few weeks ago.

In terms of the starting lineup, Caoimhin Kelleher will stay in goal, with Alisson Becker not quite ready to make his return from a hamstring injury.

Manager Jurgen Klopp is expected to keep the same back four that started against the Blades. Ibrahima Konate is set to partner Virgil van Dijk in the centre of defence, with Conor Bradley and Joe Gomez as the two fullbacks. Despite his assist on Thursday evening, Andy Robertson may have to settle for a place on the bench.

In midfield, Klopp does have plenty of options at his disposal with Curtis Jones and Wataru Endo both fit. He may select Endo ahead of Ryan Gravenberch, with Dominik Szoboszlai and Mac Allister keeping their spots.

Up front, despite not putting in one of his best performances versus the Blades, Mo Salah will keep his place. The Egyptian international has an outstanding record against United, having scored 13 times and provided 4 assists in 14 appearances.

Darwin Nunez is set to lead the line following his goal on Thursday, with Luis Diaz starting from the left flank. Cody Gakpo did get a confidence-boosting goal off the bench versus Sheffield United and he will hope to make the same impact as a substitute this weekend.

Liverpool’s Predicted XI to face Manchester United:

Kelleher, Bradley, Konate, van Dijk, Gomez, Szoboszlai, Endo, Mac Allister, Salah, Nunez, Diaz
