It’s no coincidence that Liverpool have begun to pick up results since Fabinho was moved back into midfield by manager Jurgen Klopp.
There was one moment, highlighted by the club’s official Twitter account, that demonstrated why the Brazilian is so important after he won the ball off Adama Traore:
The lighthouse.

Fans on Twitter were waxing lyrical about Fabinho’s performance following the game at Molineux, with many believing he is the best holding midfield player in the world:
@matt10076 honestly, I feel robbed that we’ve had him playing out of position all season. What a player

It wasn’t the perfect display from Fabinho by any means. His passing wasn’t as crisp as it usually is, and he gave a number of balls away, but that can be blamed on him only recently recovering from injury.
In general, though, the 27-year-old has been superb at breaking up opposition attacks and helping to control games; something that has been lacking since he was moved into defence. Supporters will be hoping that Klopp isn’t forced into playing him at centre-back again this season.
