Manchester United have entered the battle to sign Fulham attacking midfielder Fabio Carvalho, according to reports in England.
Liverpool failed to get the move for the teenager over the line last month and it could allow United to hijack the move when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Scouts from the Red Devils were believed to be in attendance when Fulham played against Manchester City in the FA Cup and Carvalho would have impressed, having scored the opener in the 4-1 defeat. Supporters on Twitter are sceptical about whether United would be a genuine threat to Liverpool’s chances of signing the player:
If he’s even be tempted by united now I’d question if I want him. Why on earth would you go there over klopp.

He will still choose Liverpool over them . Nobody wants to associate with a failure

The player might need to decide. Seems an easy straightforward choice to me. If he opts for Man U he would not have been right for us.

It’s so funny when they try to do this, the kid doesn’t want to go to a perennial underachiever that fails to improve their young players.

If he chooses to go to United then he isn’t as smart a player that #lfc should go for

Anyone who is of sound mind would avoid United in general and particularly if the prospect of Liverpool is an alternative. Use of the term hijack is appropriate as it would be against his will.

That deal is probably all done and dusted behind the scenes. He wanted to come and knew we almost had him. If by any chance he done a U- turn and signed for them, well it proves only one thing, money over trophies.

He won’t go to utd. That’s for sure.

There are also believed to be other teams interested in Carvalho, including Arsenal, West Ham and Tottenham, but it seems clear that the Reds are the favourites for his signature.
As well as negotiating an £8m fee, it is thought personal terms were also agreed, so you would think that not much more needs to be done.
