Wolves’ Attempt To Sign Liverpool And Arsenal Target Renato Sanches On Brink Of Collapse

Anfield Stadium

Wolves are now not expected to sign Lille midfielder Renato Sanches on loan, according to reports in the English media.

It was claimed yesterday that the Midlands club had agreed a deal with Lille but it is believed that the Ligue One champions are not happy about the size of the fee that Wolves would pay for the Portuguese international at the end of the loan spell.

Both Liverpool and Arsenal have been heavily linked with Sanches this summer and there is a clear opening for either team to make a late move for the 23-year-old.

Reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano has repeatedly claimed that the Reds, in particular, hold a longstanding interest in the midfielder but Wolves have emerged as the favourites for the player in recent days.

Whether this latest development will encourage Liverpool to make a bid for Sanches before the transfer window shuts, we shall have to wait and see. The Portuguese star’s knee injury was said to have ended the Merseyside club’s interest, but if he is available on loan, it would take away some of the risk in the deal.
