‘Would Be An Incredible Signing’ ‘Rather Go All Out On Barella’ Fans Debate Whether Liverpool Should Pursue 59M Rated Serie A Star

Anfield Stadium

After Liverpool midfielder Thiago picked up yet another injury against Fulham at the weekend, supporters have been debating who the club should pursue in the transfer market to strengthen their numbers in the middle of the park.

No source has so far linked the Reds with a move for Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this summer, despite various other Premier League clubs (including Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle) having all been mentioned as potential destinations.

However, when it was suggested that the Serbian international should come under consideration, Liverpool fans on Twitter had contrasting views on a possible transfer:

It should be pointed out that Liverpool don’t panic buy. Milinkovic-Savic is likely to cost at least €70m (£59m); a figure that the Reds probably wouldn’t pay.

The Merseyside club are looking for longer-term solutions and they will likely wait until next year before making an approach for Jude Bellingham. One draw versus Fulham won’t rip up their carefully planned transfer strategy.
