“Would Be Interested” Journalist Makes Shock Claim About Arsenal Star As He Is Linked With Liverpool Switch

Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka and his agents “would be interested” in discussing a move to Liverpool, according to journalist Ian McGarry.

Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, McGarry claimed that the Reds are looking at Saka as a potential transfer target ahead of the summer transfer window, before suggesting that the player would be keen on the switch as well:

“Liverpool, as you rightly say, would be able to provide the opportunity and platform for him to play and compete at the highest level, and that would certainly be something that, I’m told, he and his representatives would be interested in.”

McGarry is not a particularly reliable source so it’s best to take his information with a pinch of salt. He did also mention that Saka is angling for an improved contract with the Gunners, so that could be the reason why Liverpool’s name has been mentioned.

It is not a coincidence that the last time Saka was in discussions over a new deal eighteen months ago, the Reds were also linked, along with the likes of Manchester United and Bayern Munich.

Using reported interest from other clubs to pressurise a team into giving a player a higher salary is a common tactic among agents, and this is likely where these latest rumours about Saka have come from.
