Liverpool fans were over the moon with their team’s thorough destruction of Leeds United on Monday night – nevertheless, some of the Reds massive were keen to ensure that people do not get ahead of themselves.
While it was a strong performance by Liverpool, some fans were keen to point out the strength (or lack thereof) of their opposition. Indeed, Leeds were particularly poor on the evening, as Liverpool routinely carved them open.
With that being said, others were simply happy that Liverpool had finally broken their winless run – it was their first victory in all competitions since March 5.
That right there was a proper Liverpool performance👏🏽

Good performance, but this shouldn’t paper over the cracks, Leeds are absolutely woeful

It was a good win tonight, against a team struggling in the bottom third of the table. Our run in is good, but can we make up 9 points in the final 8 games to get 4th place and CL? We’ve had these false dawns before this season.

Wow, what a performance.
Started slow but absolutely exploded. So Happy to see Diaz again. And Trent!, My word, he cooked tonight 😀— Billion🦅 (@saleez_saleez) April 17, 2023
Hopefully it doesn't take another 40 days to get the next win.

Many Liverpool supporters were particularly impressed with the performance of Trent Alexander-Arnold, who was deployed in central midfield. His adroit passing was on full display for the duration of the game – could he remain in midfield for some time to come?
In the game against Leeds, Liverpool were dominant for the majority of the match. They enter the break 2-1 up, thanks to goals from Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah, before stepping on the gas in the second half. Salah scored again, alongside a strike from Darwin Nunez and a Diogo Jota brace.
Liverpool are still eighth in the Premier League table, despite their annihilation of the West Yorkshire outfit. They are just two points below the team above them, Brighton, but the Seagulls have a game in hand.
