Liverpool fans were treated to a vintage display last night, against none other than local rivals Everton. In a game where Liverpool largely dominated, they romped to a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo.
Everton went within a hair of opening the scoring when James Tarkowski hit the post from a corner. However, less than half a minute later, Liverpool broke at speed and Salah was on hand to slot the ball beyond the onrushing Jordan Pickford.
Several Reds players were singled out for their impressive performances in the derby. One of them was Stefan Bajcetic, who bossed the midfield and kept Liverpool ticking.
Awarded Sky Sports MOTM. Absolutely bossed it tonight.

The future is bright for Stefan Bajcetic! He has the qualities of Steven Gerrard and Jan Molby. Remember, he is only 18. pic.twitter.com/w35cTbfsKG

Nice of Bajcetic to turn into Xabi Alonso for us.

I think Bajcetic has a cemented a place in our team now, statement performance from him last night and right now he’s probably the first name on the team sheet

Bajcetic is exactly why I refused to let Curtis Jones be forced down my throat I’m sorry, he’s 4 years younger, you know straight away when players are good enough at this level

Suffice to say, Liverpool fans were very happy with the way the 18-year-old performed. According to WhoScored, the 18-year-old had a 77% pass completion rate and also managed to uncork two key passes during the game.
He wasn’t the only standout performer in Liverpool’s derby day win – Salah, Darwin Nunez, Joe Gomez and Andy Robertson were also very impressive.
