Carragher Delivers His Verdict On Liverpool’s Team Selection Against Wolves

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has backed Jurgen Klopp’s decision to rotate his squad in last night’s 2-1 defeat to Wolves in the FA Cup.

The Reds made nine changes to the starting line up that faced Manchester City in the league last time out, but the former defender turned TV pundit tweeted that it was in the best interests of their title challenge:

Youngsters Curtis Jones and Rafa Camacho started the game while Liverpool gave a debut to 16-year-old Ki-Jana Hoever after Dejan Lovren had to be substituted six minutes into the match due to a hamstring problem.

While the young players performed well, many of the club’s fringe players did not, with Klopp blaming the team’s disjointed performance on a lack of rhythm.

Liverpool will now have two free weekends with the FA Cup fourth round taking place on the 26th/27th January, with the fifth round fixtures being played on 16th/17th February.
