Gary Neville Delivers His Premier League Title Verdict After Seeing The First 11 Games

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville still feels Liverpool will win the Premier League title, despite the serious injury setbacks that the champions have suffered this season.

Speaking about the Reds, Neville firmly believes that they would have finished top easily if Virgil van Dijk was fit but, as things stand, he still does not see another team finishing ahead of them:

“I think Liverpool win this league at a canter if [Virgil] Van Dijk is fit. I really do, nobody can get near them I still think Liverpool will win the league but there are little things going against them that haven’t in the last couple of seasons. The same for Manchester City and that makes it interesting.”

The likes of Tottenham and Chelsea have also started the season impressively, while Manchester City have begun to look more like themselves in recent weeks, so it is a bold statement from Neville.

It is surprising how well Liverpool have coped without both van Dijk and Joe Gomez so far but, we are only 11 games in, and there are some difficult games coming up during the festive period and into the New Year.

If Liverpool remain in contention by the start of January, you do feel they will get stronger as the season goes on, making them favourites to retain their crown.
