Liverpool are considering a move for Leicester playmaker James Maddison as they eye potential alternatives for the likes of Jude Bellingham and Enzo Fernandez, according to reports in Spain.
Maddison has been in excellent form this campaign, having racked up seven goals and four assists in 14 appearances, but Reds fans on Twitter are split on whether a move for the £60m rated midfielder would be a good idea:
Great signing if that happens

There is no doubt that Maddison is a talented player. He has been targeted by the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea in the past but it is hard to see where he would fit into Liverpool’s starting lineup. The England international doesn’t have the discipline to play in one of the two number-eight roles, while he lacks the mobility to be deployed as a wide forward.
If the Reds were to permanently switch to a 4-2-3-1 formation, then Maddison could be selected as the no.10, but it remains to be seen whether a change in system is what manager Jurgen Klopp has in mind.
