“I Don’t Think It’s An Impossibility” Sky Sports Reporter Believes Liverpool Could Make Move For 27 Goal Hitman

Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth says Liverpool can’t be ruled out of the race to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland.

Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United are thought to be the three English clubs pursuing the 20-year-old, who has scored 27 goals in all competitions this season. However, Sheth thinks the Reds may also be eyeing the striker:

“Could he come in and replace Roberto Firmino? I don’t think it’s an impossibility, but this will come down to finances and the desire to sign Haaland because I actually think he’d want to play for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool. In short, every team has their little advantage in this race.”

It appears Sheth is merely speculating, rather than actually having any insider knowledge about Liverpool’s summer recruitment plans. The Reds have probably scouted Haaland, much like every other top European club, but Dortmund are expected to demand up to £120m for the Norwegian.

That sort of fee would likely put off the Premier League champions and it may be the case that their interest is centred on his €75m (£65m) release clause which comes into effect next year. For that to become relevant, though, Dortmund would have to reject advances from other teams this summer.
