Journalist Claims Liverpool And Chelsea Have “No Chance” Of Recruiting 40M Brazilian Star In January

There is “no chance” of Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes leaving St James’ Park during the January transfer window, according to CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs.

Liverpool, Chelsea and Real Madrid have all been credited with an interest in the Brazilian international but Jacobs says the player is happy to remain where he is:

Guimaraes only arrived in England a the start of the year when Newcastle paid £40m for the player’s services, and he has quickly established himself as one of the best holding midfielders in the Premier League.

Liverpool desperately need to strengthen their numbers in the middle of the park. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and James Milner all have contracts that expire in the summer, while the likes of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson have struggled for form.

For that reason, going after someone like Guimaraes appears to be a sensible decision but, at the moment, it seems as if the player has no intention of moving clubs.
