Liverpool, Manchester City and Juventus are all interested in snapping up Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria, according to reports in Italy.
The Swiss international will be available on a free transfer next summer, and it appears that the Reds are eyeing the player as a potential replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum.
Zakaria has been tracked by a number of teams in England over the years, including City, Manchester United and Chelsea, but a serious knee injury had set back his progress. The 24-year-old has, though, been in decent form for Gladbach this season, leading to renewed interest in him.
Liverpool may face a stern challenge from Juve, in particular, with it being claimed that the Serie A side have already begun talks with Zakaria’s new agent: Ali Dursan.
It means Jurgen Klopp’s side will have to move fast if they are to secure the midfielder’s signature. Considering his talent and the fact that he won’t cost a fee, it does seem like the type of deal that the Reds would pursue.
