Liverpool Have Been Offered Barcelona Star Following Romano’s Claims Of Arsenal Snub

Liverpool have been offered the chance to re-sign Philippe Coutinho by Barcelona, according to reports in the Catalan media.

The La Liga side still owe the Reds around €40m (£34m) for the deal that saw the Brazilian move to the Camp Nou three and a half years ago, and they are hoping they can write off the debt by sending him back.

There have been no reports in the UK that suggest Liverpool are interested in bringing back Coutinho at this stage. There had been some claims that Everton and Arsenal may be considering a move for the midfielder but transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the Gunners are not in the race:

With that being the case, it will be interesting to see whether manager Jurgen Klopp would be open to Coutinho coming back, if the finances don’t prove prohibitive. It may well be the case that the Reds would simply want the £34m they are owed.
