Klopp Among The 5 Nominees For Premier League Manager Of The Month

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been nominated for September’s Manager of the Month award.

The Reds won 3 Premier League games against Aston Villa, Wolves and West Ham, whilst also losing a controversial match versus Tottenham last time out.

Klopp’s men find themselves 4th in the Premier League table, 2 points off Manchester City at the top, heading into the month of October.

Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou, Villa’s Unai Emery and Newcastle boss Eddie Howe are also in contention for the accolade.

Who is the favourite for the award?

Having picked up 10 points from their 4 matches in September, Arteta and Postecoglou are the two likeliest managers to be given the award.

However, fans can also get involved in the voting process. Liverpool supporters can visit the official Premier League website here and nominate Klopp. Nominations close at 12PM BST on Monday.

Klopp will be keen to start October with a couple of victories

After an impressive September, Liverpool have two games to go before the next international break. They take on Union Saint-Gilloise in the Europa League on Thursday evening before facing Brighton away from home this weekend.

Following the loss to Spurs, Klopp will hope that his team can get back to winning ways straight away before members of the first team join up with their national squads next week.

When they come back together later this month, the Reds will need to get back into the swing of things immediately, with the derby against Everton at Anfield on October 21st. The Merseysiders then have 3 more league fixtures against Nottingham Forest, Luton and Brentford, as well as a Europa League doubleheader versus Toulouse, before the final international break of the year in November.
